Quarry Open for Chipping Sodbury Festival
Heidelberg Materials UK is opening the doors to its Chipping Sodbury operations from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 14 June as part of the town’s annual festival.
Ticket holders are welcome to visit the company’s regional office at The Ridge on Wickwar Road where they can learn about the workings of the quarry and the wildlife that calls it home.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about how and where the vital minerals extracted at the site are used and members of the Chipping Sodbury team will be on hand to talk about a range of topics including geology, blasting and the varied career opportunities the company offers.
Members of the public will also have the opportunity to take a minibus tour of the quarry floor and see some of the giant quarry machinery up close. The bus tour starts and ends at The Ridge and is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.
Tickets for the open day are limited and must be pre-booked via the link below.
There is a nominal charge of £2 per ticket, with money raised via the entrance fee being donated to Chipping Sodbury Festival.
